A new front door to quality care

president's letter

A great patient experience is what the UHS Wilson Main Tower is all about. The goal of this exciting new facility at UHS Wilson Medical Center is to provide a state-of-the-art healing environment for the people we serve. It is the culmination of an incredible amount of planning, dedication and hard work on the part of our board members, leadership, medical staff, employees and community partners. The result is not just a magnificent building, but a great place to provide and receive care.

This is the largest capital project UHS has ever undertaken and the first expansion of the UHS Wilson Medical Center campus in more than 30 years. Six stories tall, on Johnson City’s Main Street, this is a structure we have created to be the new front door to UHS’ services. With both the hospital’s main entrance and emergency entrance located in the Wilson Main Tower, facing Main Street, the building is designed to welcome the entire community with open arms.

Featuring ultimate privacy, efficient spaces and an abundance of natural light, the Wilson Main Tower includes 120 single-occupancy rooms, each with its own private bathroom. A new helipad, MRI suite and Emergency & Trauma Center elevate our ability to provide lifesaving diagnosis and treatment.

Because of its incredible design, the Wilson Main Tower gives us more capacity to deliver quality care and recruit top clinicians. This is the centerpiece of an expansion that includes the recent opening nearby of our Child Care center and 24/7 Pharmacy, much-needed services that now will benefit thousands of people throughout the region.

Everyone at UHS is thrilled to inaugurate the Wilson Main Tower, along with UHS Child Care and the UHS Pharmacy Johnson City, all on Main Street. These milestone services have been developed in direct response to community need, and through them and our many other healthcare resources, we are immensely proud to continue serving the people of the Southern Tier for generations to come.
